UPON LOSS
by holly elaine
[Content Warning: This play contains strobe lighting effects, sudden loud noises, and gore, as well as references to sexual assault, suicide, and medical trauma.]

After losing her cherished relationship, a young woman is forced to face a demon that has haunted her for years.
Holly is just a young woman going through life, doing her best to make everyone happy and comfortable. Sure, she has demonic encounters and thoughts of death--but what's that compared to heartbreak? What will she do when there's nothing left to lose and darkness descends?

This horrifying, dramatic, and autobiographical production is devised of projections, live music, dance, comedy, puppet/creature acting, and a one-woman show--all meant to shock and draw in the audience on her experience with learning how to give yourself hope in a moment of complete darkness. Themes of LGBTQ+, sexual assault, spirituality, and medical trauma fill this physical, devised piece of dance and performance art.
